1. Your Enquiry

The conversation starts by you filling out my contact form with some details of what you're looking for (i.e. custom wedding invitations, save the dates, on the day stationery).

2. Initial Consultation

We will then have a quick chat through your ideas, either over email or via a free video consultation where I can get to know you and your style better and what you need. Don't worry if you don't have a fully formed idea just yet - that's exactly where I can help!

3. Briefing Form

I'll then ask you to fill out a briefing form to capture all of your details (i.e. wedding date, venue, quantities and any special requests or design details) so that we can design your custom wedding invitations, save the dates or on the day stationery.

4. Quote

I'll then be able to provide you with a personalised quote that includes my design fee as well as any printing costs.

Prices for bespoke design start from £250 and increase depending on the complexity and time required to create your bespoke design.

5. Concept

Next, I will mock up a sketch of what I'm envisaging for your custom wedding stationery design. Once this is agreed, I can start working on your stationery, be that just your wedding invites, save the dates or the whole collection right the way through to your stationery on the day.

6. Design

I will then bring your bespoke wedding stationery design to life with watercolour paintings, pressed foliage and/or digital illustration, depending on your brief. It will all be created by hand and be totally personalised to you.

7. First Draft

You will receive the first draft of your bespoke wedding stationery design for review. A maximum of 2 minor edits can be made before the design is finalised.

8. Print and Delivery

Once you are happy with the design, I will send your wedding stationery to print (or send it over digitally). I will then package everything up and post directly to you, ready for you to send it out to your guests (how exciting!) or display on your big day.

Custom Wedding Stationery: How it Works

What is your pricing for custom wedding stationery?

Custom wedding stationery ranges from around £250 - £2,500 depending on your needs and the number of stationery items (i.e. save the dates, invitations, menus, table plan, welcome signage etc).

I quote for printing separately as this is subject to change from my suppliers and will be charged when we're ready to print your stationery. For reference, most invitations cost around £1.50 to print.

I can also provide digital versions of illustrations if you want to keep costs down but love my style and want to send them out yourself electronically.

Your personalised quote includes the design fee plus the estimated cost of printing and envelopes, if you need them.

What wedding stationery do you offer?

The majority of my custom wedding designs are for invitations, save the dates and on the day stationery.

On the day stationery includes anything you need from menus, order of service booklets, place names and favours to table plans, order of the day and welcome signage.

I love chatting through your ideas so if you have something in mind that sits outside of that list then please just ask as I love anything a bit different - the more wild and creative, the better!

How long will it take to receive my design?

The lead time is usually around 4 weeks from the date we agree on to work on your custom wedding stationery and following receipt of your briefing form and payment. Slots are reserved on a first come first serve basis for custom wedding stationery and I book in 2-3 custom projects a month.

If you need something ASAP, get in touch as I will always try and accommodate you (please note this may incur an extra fee).

When should I enquire about my stationery?

As soon as possible really so that we have time to chat through your ideas and get you booked in!

I recommend sending save the dates anywhere between a year - 18 months in advance (longer if you're getting married abroad). For invitations, I would suggest 6 - 8 months in advance (longer if you haven't sent save the dates). And for your on the day stationery, I would start thinking about this 3 - 4 months in advance to make sure we can get you booked in.

What about sustainability?

If you're looking to make your wedding eco friendly, look no further. All of my packaging is fully recycled and plastic free and I only print on luxury, recycled or FSC certified card (which is fully recyclable). I also offer digital save the dates and invitations if you're really looking to cut the carbon footprint of your big day whilst still having stunning stationery.

Who owns the design?

All illustrations and artwork are owned by the artist and may be used in marketing materials. For anything bespoke, this will be unique to you and won't be found for sale elsewhere. This is so that each piece acts as a special keepsake and unique reminder of your special day.

Do you offer returns and refunds?

Due to the custom nature of my wedding stationery, all sales are final and deposits non-refundable. Alex Hinton Design cannot offer returns, refunds, or exchanges in the event of cancellations or date changes.
